As most of us are aware, there is a little Capcom tilte coming out called Resident Evil 5. Maybe late 2008, more than likely 2009, aren't ALL RE games faced with a drastic delay in their release cycle? The game is gonna pick up with RE4's re-vamped survival horror mechanics that seems to have sparked interests in many RE and non-RE related fans. One can only hope elements from previous RE titles besides RE4 will return to the game as well. The return of Chris Redfield for me is a huge deal. It takes the series back to the beginning and what the true conflict was about in the original for me (before UMB conspiracies and Raccoon City), S.T.A.R.S.vs. Albert Wesker. The battle left off in one of my favorite RE titles RE:Code:V, is finally getting the sequel it deserves with RE5.
I know we got a ways away for this title... but discussion I'm sure on this title is open for all possibilities and any theories anyone may have.

Of course it is. ;D And what's even better is we got over a year for horrendous theories and impossible predictions many are going to make on the game until it is finally released. Capcom has plenty of time to work and perfect this game. I love how they're finally taking their time in making the next RE game, instead of bringing 1 or 2 games out every year. I enjpyed them all, but seems their qualtiy somewhat diminishes with the rushed releases.
While i miss the previous RE game mechanics before RE4 came out. The new gameplay is fitting for the new take on survival horror/action. I just miss the backtracking and puzzle solving where you HAD to find your way around, not following a Linear Path.
I'm more excited about the confrontation between Chris and Wesker and what characters are going to play cameo and sub-character roles in RE5

I think the storyline will turn out looking like an unfinished puzzle. I hate how RE4's story turned out, so I expect lameness from the likes of RE5 to bite that hook the same way. Sure it'll probably be fun to sacrifice horror for loads of action, but I fine tune myself to look at the bigger picture here. Like Capcom cashing in on current fans, by putting Chris in it and neglecting to make a coherent story tie into what current fans want... a plausible story.
I'm glad they finally got the chance to milk Chris fans for all their worth before someone calls BS.

I don't judge a game till I play it. Besides the way they'll use the heat and light ot make the game seem "real". Having to adjust to the light and not be exposed to the heat for long.

I don't want that kind of realism though, I got real life for that. Too much realism takes away from having fun in the GAME in my opinion.

Could you imagine how cool the game would look if it took place in a major city during a zombie outbreak!

and thats what reaaly sux now! Is RE wasn't really built on spectacular graphics, though the pre-rendered backgrounds were very detailed. But, now, we have next-gen graphics that CAN make the zombies look more gruesome and disturbing, wonderful lighting effects, especially from the last-gen gamecube REmake and 0 titles. now we're in the next-gen of consoles, and no more zombies, or really frightening locations.
but, i really wouldn't want TOO many zombies, just for the fact i don't want the game to turn out like Dead Rising, which was ok, but not a single horror element in that game that i found terrifying, amybe some disturbing characters, but nothing frightening as far as enemies went.

I expect to be let down with RE5. Even if Chris is in it.

I expect to be let down with RE5. Even if Chris is in it. The only thing really pumping me up for RE5 is not the graphics or "user-friendly" gameplay ... it's because my favoite story of all the games was Code:V-X; and it's somewhat getting a sequel since it involves Wesker and Chris. These were the two that started it all, although the gamelpay and game mechanics have severely changed, maybe the story will take us back to those better RE days. I just want some friggin puzzles, and some long exploring and backtracking, where I have to find MY own way around ... NO LINEAR paths from RE4!!!!
