to play outbreak 1 and I'm wondering what characters I should start with. I like the games but I just haven't fully gotten into the OB games and I'm wanting to start them so my question is which two should I start with.

Your two best , that i syarted with, was Cindy and Yoko. For a beginner, i suggest Yoko, for her large amount of itmes she can carry, it'll pay off, trust me. Cindy is one of the best, too, for her healing items. good luck. and keep us updated wioth your progress. always glad to hear of some "new blood" to the outbreak games. Welcome to the Outbreak Base! Hopwe to see you back here soon

thanks for the help hcf I'll give it a try when I get home from work today. One more thing though, should I just try to go through it on my own or use a walkthrough? I mean I like the games mysteries when you dont know whats going to happen but I also don't like missing things so it's kind of a catch 22.
On a side note I started without using any kind of walkthrough and I have to say I suck gianormously. I couldn't find my way out of the staff room, then when I did find the key I was out of ammo and so hurt that I never made it to the forklift.
Mind you I said I love my RE games, but a hardcore no damage finish in 2 hours kind of person I am not. I take my time and investigate all things heh.

Meh personally people just starting out should use Yoko, Kevin, or David.
Yoko for the extra space, Kevin for his kick/.45/speed, and David for his strength/speed/stamina.
I'd just go through the levels and learn the maps without the help of a guide. Nearly every document you find will have some use, rather than useless facts. Some documents are useless to people who have played most RE games.

Cindy isn't a very good beginner character actually, she takes skill to get good with. Yoko does have the extra space, but she dies VERY easily, so you shouldn't use her unless you are good at dodging. The best beginner character, even though I hate him, is definitly Kevin. Starts with a weapon, has a kick, and has a good health amount. Plus you can master him in 5 seconds..

I agree with Foxy, as much as I like Yoko she really isn't the best character for begininners because she can die very quickly and sucks with weapons. Plus not to mention she's the slowest character.
In my opinion Kevin and Mark are the best characters for rookies because they both have very high health and are the most suited for combat. Kevin can run fast, has high health, and starts with a powerful gun suited for boss fights and can perform a useful pot shot that makes his 45 Automatic like a magnum. Mark on the other hand while slow has the highest amount of health, starts with a handgun, and can be useful with melee weapons. Unfortunetly he can't hide due to his weight but he makes up for it with a block ability.
The rest of the characters are really only good once you've mastered the game.

But yeah, he is pretty much the recommended beginning character due to his small learning curve. Basically all you have to learn with him is how to take a potshot (wait till your stance changes), how to kick, and then how to play in general with any character.
